The Dolphins cricket team has secured the expertise of former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed as their mentor for the Bahria Town Champions T20 Cup 2024-25. Sarfaraz’s appointment is anticipated to significantly enhance the team’s performance, given his extensive experience and leadership in the cricketing arena.

As the mentor of the Dolphins, Sarfaraz Ahmed has been granted comprehensive authority over team dynamics, including player selection and captaincy decisions. The Bahria Town Champions T20 Cup 2024-25 is scheduled to take place in Faisalabad from September 12 to September 29. Organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board, the tournament aims to identify and nurture young talent, contributing to the development of future cricketing stars for the national team.

Sarfaraz Ahmed is celebrated for his leadership and wicket keeping skills. He captained Pakistan to victory in the ICC U19 World Cup in 2006 and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017. Under his leadership, Pakistan achieved the number one ranking in ICC T20I Team Rankings. Notably, Sarfaraz became the first Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter to score a century in a World Cup match, achieving this milestone against Ireland in Adelaide in 2015. He holds the record for the most dismissals in an ODI (six catches) and is the second wicketkeeper in history to captain his side in over 50 ODIs. With over 2,000 runs and 100 dismissals, Sarfaraz ranks 17th on the ODI wicket-keepers’ list.
